Summer
No ceremony – Official graduation date, August 10, 2013.
Summer graduates are invited to participate in either the spring ceremony or the winter ceremony the semester prior to or immediately following graduation from CU-Boulder.
Applying for graduation
August graduates should inform their dean’s office of their plans and check on the specific deadlines for applying for graduation. August graduates need to follow the same deadlines for applying for graduation as May or December degree candidates. A diploma card will need to be turned in to guarantee receipt of graduation information and program listing. Graduate students will need to file according to the Graduate School deadlines.
Recognition of graduates
The names of the August graduating students will be included in a combined list in the program, and all graduating students will be recognized as a combined group during the conferral of degrees for each school and college. August graduates will be included in all college/school recognition ceremonies and receptions. The colleges/schools determine the program content of these events.
August doctoral and law candidates will be hooded during the individual departmental ceremonies in the spring. August doctoral and law graduates will be hooded and individually recognized at the university’s winter commencement ceremony in a combined group.
Diplomas
To ensure that you receive your diploma, please update your permanent address with MyCUInfo.colorado.edu by September 6, 2013.
Remember, attending the university commencement ceremony does not guarantee graduation. Graduate status is determined only by your school or college.
Doctoral candidates can pick up their diplomas from the Registrar’s Office, Regent 105, August 12-14, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Diplomas not picked up at this time will be mailed to the permanent address the university has on record by August 19.
Master’s and undergraduate diplomas will be mailed to the home address the university has on record for you by October 8.
Diploma Covers
Diploma covers are available at the Registrar’s Office, Regent 105 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Transcripts
Official transcripts may be ordered through the Transcript Office online at www.colorado.edu/transcripts. Diplomas and transcripts cannot be released if you have outstanding financial obligations to the university. Please make sure to clear all your records with the Bursar’s Office (Regent 150, 303-492-5381) before your graduation.
Official transcripts with degrees recorded will be available beginning September 19, for August graduates.
Enrollment Deposit Refund
Enrollment deposit refunds, less any outstanding charges, will be mailed eight weeks after official graduation from the university. To ensure that your refund reaches you without delay, please update your permanent address onMyCUInfo.colorado.edu by September 6, 2013.
Honors Medals
Summer graduates participating in either the spring or winter ceremonies should pick up their medals at the same time as the spring or winter graduates. If not participating in a ceremony, summer graduates can pick up their honors medals at the Registrar’s Office the week of August 5, between 9:00 a.m–4:00 p.m. Any change in the honors status upon completion of degree will be reflected on the actual diploma.
