Volunteer as a Marshal
We appreciate everyone who joins us to celebrate our graduating Buffs. A successful commencement depends on volunteer marshals like you. The 2024 Commencement ceremony will take place Thursday, May 9. The traditional procession from Norlin Quadrangle will begin at 8 a.m., and the commencement ceremony takes place in Folsom Field starting at 8:30 a.m.
Marshal Regalia
Marshals wear regalia and a marshal stole to identify them as volunteers who can assist students and guests during the commencement ceremony. Please reserve your regalia by March 24, 2024. Marshals will pick up regalia at the Marshal's Luncheon.
Regalia Returns
After the ceremony, please return your regalia to Balch Fieldhouse. The CU Book Store will not accept rental returns. If you do not return rental apparel (gown, hood and cap) after you use it, you might have to pay for the full replacement value.
Marshal’s Luncheon
Join us at the marshal’s luncheon for a detailed review of your role during the commencement ceremony. The marshal’s luncheon is scheduled for noon–2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. You need to RSVP only if you are unable to attend. Please communicate your unavailability to attend to commencement@colorado.edu.
Chancellor’s Brunch
Marshals are invited to attend the Chancellor’s Commencement Brunch immediately after the ceremony in the tent on Sewall Lawn.
